Organic Chemistry Associate Manager – Key Responsibilities
- Independently design and perform complex organic syntheses for surfactants, pharma, coatings, polymers, lubricants, and more.
- Perform comprehensive literature reviews using Reaxys, SciFinder, and similar tools.
- Develop scalable, sustainable synthetic routes aligned with green chemistry and efficient operations.
- Maintain detailed experimental records, characterization data, and prepare reports and presentations.
- Collaborate with the Head of R&D to execute projects within timelines and budgets.
- Ensure lab safety, cleanliness, and SOP compliance at all times.
- Innovate continuously and propose new ideas to overcome scientific or process bottlenecks.
- Coordinate effectively with internal and external research teams.
- Stay updated with industry advancements and support the development of emerging technologies.
Required Qualifications
- PhD in Organic Chemistry with 2–3 years of industrial R&D experience
OR - MSc in Organic Chemistry with 5–10 years of relevant industry experience (lab experience mandatory)
- Strong grasp of reaction mechanisms, purification techniques, and analytical interpretation
- Experience in carbohydrate chemistry and structure–function derivatization is highly preferred
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of delivering under pressure
- Strong communication skills and ability to thrive in global, cross-functional teams
