Diversey is seeking an experienced Chemical Engineer / Scientist to provide technical expertise and develop new products for our Solenis product portfolio. The focus of this role will be to develop, design, and test products/new applications related to the Diversey portfolio and provide support to technical teams & formulators. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated, knowledgeable individual who can solve a wide variety of problems, has a strong technical background, and can manage and prioritize shorter-term projects and product developments.

The individual in this position will:

• Effectively partner with other departments such as Regulatory function, Marketing, Supply Chain, & Technical Services.
• Manage the product development process.
• Conduct laboratory experiments, run & design test protocols for product approvals.
• Make reports and present findings to management.
• Be responsible for generating ideas, developing products, and getting customer approval.
• Regularly communicate progress and requirements to complete assigned work with the manager and project teams.
• Lead assigned project tasks.
• Provide creative solutions to project management problems through an understanding of new and emerging techniques inside and outside the company.

Skills, Certification or Special Training Required

• Master’s or PhD degree in Chemistry, Microbiology, Chemical Technology, Food Technology, or equivalent.
• Know-how on chemistry & formulation, specialty/FMCG chemicals, R&D tools and techniques, Stage gate process, Six Sigma tools.
• Ability to manage time and activities to deliver assigned goals.
• Excellent written and oral presentation skills.
• Ability to work effectively with peers in R&D and other departments as a team player.
• Project management skills, Process Management, Decision Making, Planning & Estimating, Monitoring & Controlling.
• Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, result-oriented.
• Ability to lead and drive execution of scientific projects with clear accountability.
