Job Title: Senior Scientific Officer (Scientific B)

Eligibility Criteria: Master’s Degree in Chemistry or Toxicology or Biochemistry or Forensic Science from a recognized University or Institute and Bachelor’s Degree with Chemistry as one of the subjects from a recognized University or Institute.

Experience – Three years of Analytical/Research work in Forensic Science.
Desirable Qualification (s) Doctorate Degree in the concerned subject from a recognized University or Institute.

Pay Scale Pay Level-10 (56100-177500) of pay matrix under CCS (RP) Rules, 2016. Total emoluments excluding T.A. & HRA at the time of initial appointment will be Rs.56100/- plus DA as applicable per month

Age Not exceeding 35 years as on normal closing date. Relaxable for regularly appointed Central/UTs Govt. Servants upto 5 years as per instructions/orders issued by

NOTE– Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the UPSC for reasons to be recorded in writing in case of candidates otherwise well qualified.

Duties The major natural of duties include visiting the scene of the crime, examination of crime exhibits, attending the court of law as an expert, taking active part in research and development, imparting training to various investigating agencies, and other administrative work required for up-gradation of FSL and works assigned by the higher authorities.
