Eligibility Criteria: Master’s Degree in any branch of Chemistry Or Bachelor Degree in Chemical Engineering or Technology from a recognized University/ Institution.
Or Degree or Diploma conferred by the Associate Institute of Chemist (India) in Chemistry.
Pay Scale As per 7th CPC- Level – 8 (Rs 47600-151100/-) in the Pay Matrix (Pre-revised Rs. 9,300-34,800/- (PB-2) plus Rs. 4800(Grade Pay) (Total emoluments excluding T.A. & H.R.A at the time of initial appointment will be Rs. 47,600/- plus DA as applicable per month approximately.)
Age Not exceeding 30 years for General Category and Economically Weaker Section (EWS) candidates as on normal closing date. Not exceeding 33 years for Other Backward Class candidates, 35 years for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates as on normal closing date in respect of the vacancies reserved
for them. Relaxable for regularly appointed Central/U.T. Government Servant upto Five years in accordance with the instructions or orders issued by Central Government from time to time. Note 2: Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission, for reasons to be recorded in writing, in case of candidates otherwise well qualified.
Desirable Qualification (s)
Duty(ies) Analytical work relating to rocks, minerals, ores, metals, alloys allied materials, and assaying of precious metals.
Probation Two (02) years.
Headquarters Kolkata with All India service liability.
Other Details General Central Service, Group ‘B’ Gazetted, Non- Ministerial. The posts are permanent.
Any Other Conditions Every appointee on his/her 1st appointment in the Geological Survey of India shall have to successfully complete the induction or orientation training conducted by the Geological Survey of India Training Institute.
