Job Title: Senior Research Scientist- B
Work Location: Bangalore
Eligibility: Ph.D. chemistry
Experience: 6-10 years experience
Desirable skills:
- Should have a Ph.D. in Chemistry with relevant experience in Computational Chemistry preferably in a CRO.
- Specialist in applying Computational Chemistry/Biology techniques in Drug Discovery.
- Expertise in Molecular modeling, Structure-based drug design, Project coordination and management, Data analytics, Drug discovery, GPCR Homology model and evaluation, Virtual Screening, SAR Analysis, QSAR Modeling, Designing, Selectivity Analysis
- Good attitude to work in a team and help other members in the team.
- Good Presentation and communication skills. Good Analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Involving in collaborative computational chemistry projects.
- Working on various drug discovery projects aimed toward improving potency, selectivity, solubility and pharmacokinetic properties through the application of ligand-based and structure-based drug design approaches
- Supporting medicinal chemistry teams in compound library prioritization, chemical matter design & SAR development/optimization
- Identification of the potency and selectivity hot-spots, and recommend modifications to resolve issues pertaining to compound solubility, permeability, metabolic stability etc.
- Propose new designs and hypothesis to develop concise and meaningful SAR.
- Model and rationalize the designs suggested by the Medicinal Chemists.
- Provide periodic updates about current competition as well as new up-comings w.r.t the target and therapeutic area throughout the Drug Discovery Process.
- Develop in-house QSAR models for hERG liability, CYP inhibition, property estimations, Perform novelty and patentability searches to ensure adequate FTO space while lead optimization.
- Addressing key modeling-related issues while discussing project status in Scientific Review meetings to facilitate go or no-go decisions.
- Suggesting novel targets and proposing new projects.
- Showcasing Computational capabilities while drafting business proposals for new clients.
- Mentor the people/team on planning and execution of work
