Position Overview
Phenomenex is currently seeking a Technical Specialist – Biopharma responsible for supporting customers with chromatography challenges in the biopharmaceutical industry, both onsite and offsite. As part of a global Technical Support Team, this role provides problem-solving, troubleshooting, and applications assistance worldwide in chromatography and sample preparation.
The role supports primarily Bio-Pharmaceutical industries, with additional exposure to Pharmaceutical, Clinical Research, Clinical Toxicology, Food Safety, Environmental, Fuels, and Specialty Chemicals—making it a strong fit for MSc Chemistry jobs and experienced chemistry jobs in Bangalore.
This is an on-site role
reporting to the Senior Manager, Technical Support and Global Applications, and is part of the Applications team located in Bengaluru. Flexibility in shift schedules is required.Responsibility
- Provide problem-solving and troubleshooting assistance for the Phenomenex Sales Team and customers worldwide via Live Chat, Internal Ticketing Systems, and other channels (both written and oral).
- Creatively solve problems and develop customer-oriented solutions.
- Work cross-functionally to diagnose, communicate, and troubleshoot product-related issues.
- Assist with collateral creation to support marketing and customer training efforts.
- Perform hands-on work within our internal laboratory from time to time to support troubleshooting and application development.
- Perform other job-related duties as necessary in support of our products and services.
Essential RequirementsÂ
- M.Sc. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or a related field with 3 years of relevant experience, a Ph.D. in Bio-analytical chemistry would be a plus.
- At least 3 years of experience in a laboratory environment working with HPLC, SPE, and LC-MS/MS/HRMS for Biopharma applications.
- Proficient in theoretical and practical chromatographic techniques relating to analytical and bioanalytical chemistry.
- Strong analytical thinking skills and the ability to present their ideas and solutions in a clear and effective manner (written and verbal).
- Problem-solving and troubleshooting experience.
- Clear communicator and ability to multitask.
- A strong desire to cooperate in a teamwork environment.
- Willing to relocate and travel up to 30% domestically.
Experience in:
- Strong problem-solving and analysis skills.
- Ability to adapt to and handle competing departmental needs.
- Experience with sample preparation techniques such as Solid Phase Extraction (SPE).
