are invited for the position of Research Associate/Postdoc in an Environmental Engineering and Management project focused on Air pollution, Chemical Characterization, Source Apportionment, and Human Health Impact Assessment. This is an interdisciplinary project entitled, “Indian pollution scenarios of PM10 and PM2.5: Local measurement to regional emission modelling through atmospheric chemistry, health impact assessment and spatial distributions” involving project investigators as Dr Sailesh Narayan Behera (Department of Civil Engineering), Dr. Samit Bhattacharyya (Department of Mathematics), and Dr Yamini Sudha Sistla (Department of Chemical Engineering), Shiv Nadar Institute of Eminence Deemed to be University, Delhi-NCR, Greater Noida201314.Qualification or Eligibility:
PhD in Civil Engineering or related field of Environmental Engineering, Chemical/Mechanical Engineering (environmental-related applications), or M.Sc./MTech with at least 3 years of research, teaching, and design experience, having at least one research paper in a SCI-indexed Journal. The candidate should have a good background and experience in experiments of air pollution monitoring, sampling, sample preparation, and chemical characterization, and hands-on practice in air quality modelling related to source apportionment techniques.
Desirable: Preference will be given to candidates having prior experience in air quality monitoring and modelling.
Fellowship: 55,000/- per month consolidated (subject to tax deduction). Campus accommodation will be provided based on availability.
Duration: 1 year (further extension is possible based on satisfactory performance and availability of funds).
Project Description:
The project’s research scope includes sampling of PM10 and PM2.5, chemical characterization of inorganic ions, trace elements, and organic and elemental carbon, conducting simulations for source apportionment, and health impact assessment studies.
