CSIR–CMERI Summer Internship 2026 Call for Applications
Applications are invited for the Summer Internship 2026 at CSIR–CMERI Durgapur from students who will be completing the sixth (06) semester of their B.E./B.Tech. programmes by
May/June 2026 at IITs, NITs, and other reputed universities and engineering colleges in the country. The Institute aims to provide eligible and interested students with an opportunity to engage in its ongoing research activities and acquire practical, hands-on experience in emerging areas of research.Duration: Four (04) to eight (08) weeks during Summer Vacation (May to July of 2026)
Intake of Students
A total of 141 students (approx.) will be inducted as Summer Interns to meet the requirements of various ongoing projects within the Institute’s R&D Groups, as summarized below.

Selection Process
The selection of interns will be done on the basis of fulfillment of eligibility criteria and thereafter, merit-based overall assessment of the candidates.
Eligibility Criteria
- B.E./B.Tech. Students studying in a recognized College/Institute/University who will be completing the sixth (06) Semester of their B.E./B.Tech. programmes by May/June 2026 in any of the disciplines mentioned above.
- The students must have passed the Class X and Class XII Board examinations with satisfactory marks, preferably securing First Division/Class. Additionally, they must have obtained a minimum of 60% aggregate marks up to the most recent semester completed in their B.E./B.Tech. programme.
Accommodation
The selected interns will have to make their own arrangements for their stay during the internship. No accommodation will be provided by CSIR-CMERI, Durgapur.
When to Apply?
Applications must reach the Head, Human Resource Management Group at CSIR–CMERI, Durgapur by March 31, 2026. The list of selected candidates (including waitlisted ones, if any) will be notified on the CSIR–CMERI website tentatively by the last week of April 2026.

- Filled in Application Form – Summer Internship 2026 (As per enclosed format ANNEXURE–I)
- Original Recommendation Letter/No Objection Certificate (NOC) issued on the official letterhead by the Head of the Institution/Department/Training and Placement Officer (TPO), clearly stating the applicant’s aspirations, as well as the proposed start date and duration of the Summer Internship at CSIR–CMERI.
- Self-certified copies of mark sheets/grade cards/certificates of all examinations passed (starting from Class-X board exam)
Important Instructions
- Filled-in application forms duly recommended by the college/university authorities (such as Head of college/university, Head of Department, or Training & Placement Officer) submitted by the student will only be considered.
