The Summer Research Fellowship Programme (SRFP) at JNCASR is a prestigious initiative that inspires undergraduate and postgraduate students to pursue careers in scientific research. Launched in 1991, this merit-based fellowship offers hands-on research exposure across life sciences, chemical sciences, physical sciences, materials science, and engineering, making it one of India’s most respected early-career research opportunities. Interested candidates apply for the exciting opportunity at JNCASR Recruitment.

About JNCASR: The Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR) is a premier research institution based in Bangalore, India. Established in 1991, the Centre is renowned for its vibrant academic atmosphere, cutting-edge research, and innovative educational programmes that inspire students to pursue careers in science and engineering.

Position: Summer Research Fellowship Programme (SRFP)

This is a flagship programme of the JNCASR, introduced in 1991. Science and engineering students at the bachelor’s and master’s levels are placed for two months of training in the areas of their interest in the Life Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Physical Sciences, and Engineering. Selection is based on merit. Admitted students receive a fellowship of Rs. 10,000/- per month, plus minimal travel support. Since its inception in 1991, 2672 students have

benefited from this programme. This is one of the highly acclaimed programmes of the Centre, and the students are very appreciative of its benefits, which inspire them towards scientific research at an early stage of their education. Several SRFP fellows have pursued careers in science and engineering and hold academic positions in India and abroad.
