Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Cosmetic Flavor Chemist to join our R&D Department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and optimizing flavors for skincare, haircare, and oral care products, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, sensory appeal, and product stability. This role requires a blend of scientific expertise, creativity, and attention to detail to deliver market-leading formulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research, develop, and evaluate flavors for oral care (toothpaste, mouthwash, etc.), skincare, and haircare products.
- Conduct sensory evaluations, stability studies, and compatibility testing of flavors with active ingredients and packaging materials.
Collaborate with R&D, Marketing, and Production teams to align flavor profiles with brand positioning and consumer preferences.
Ensure all formulations comply with local and international cosmetic regulations (BIS, FDA, ISO, GMP).
Maintain detailed formulation records, technical data sheets, and regulatory documentation.
Identify and source innovative natural and synthetic flavor materials from reliable suppliers.
Troubleshoot flavor-related challenges during product development and production scale-up.
Keep abreast of industry trends, emerging ingredients, and consumer insights to inspire new product ideas.
Qualifications:
Hard Skills:
- Strong understanding of flavor chemistry, sensory science, and cosmetic formulation.
- Proficiency in GC-MS, HPLC, and other analytical techniques for flavor analysis.
- Knowledge of raw material safety, IFRA guidelines, and cosmetic regulatory frameworks.
- Hands-on experience in formulating and adjusting flavor systems for personal care products.
- Ability to conduct and interpret stability and sensory tests.

- Proven track record in R&D projects and successful product launches.
- Experience in working with international cosmetic standards and regulatory requirements.
