Job Summary:
We are seeking a Regulatory Compliance Team Lead to manage the qualification of packaging materials used in consumer products for the EMEA region. The role involves ensuring compliance with key EU and French regulations, coordinating testing and documentation, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to build packaging compliance
initiatives.Key Responsibilities:
- Lead packaging material qualification activities for consumer products.
- Ensure compliance with applicable EMEA regulations, including:
- EC 1223/2009(Cosmetic Products Regulation)
- REACH regulation (EC) No 1272/2008)
- French AGEC Law & Decree (incl. Article L. 5232)
- EU 2019/1021 (POPs Regulation)
- EC 10/2011 (Food Contact Materials, if applicable)
- EU 528/2012 (Biocidal Products Regulation)
- PFAS-related compliance and restrictions
- Conduct or oversee:
- Packaging safety evaluations (chemical compatibility, leaching/migration)
- Stability and microbial integrity check relevant to packaging
- Substance screening (SVHCs, POPs, phthalates, PFAS, etc.)
- Review and validate supplier documentation (SDS, CoC, DoC, migration test reports, recyclability data)
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and vendor/suppliers for document collation and verification.
- Guide and mentor junior team members involved in packaging compliance.
Qualifications:
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in chemistry or packaging engineering with working knowledge of packaging development and packaging raw material chemistry.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience working in the life sciences industry, particularly in the packaging department.
- Communication skills – Effective, timely, and proactive communication with all internal & external (suppliers) stakeholders
- Critical thinking – Asking the right questions, avoiding redundant questions, steps, processes & learning from past experiences to extrapolate the lessons to other requests.
