CSIR – Central Food Technological Research Institute (CFTRI), Mysuru, a constituent National Laboratory of Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR), is dedicated to advancing the field of Food Science & Technology. Engagement in the position of Research Interns
Position Details:
- Name of the Position: Research Intern
- Number of Position(s): 10 nos.

Essential Qualification:
- M.Sc. with 1st Class or equivalent in the area of Food Technology / Food Science & Technology / Food Science & Nutrition / Biochemistry / Chemistry / Zoology / Botany / Life Sciences / Biotechnology
- (OR) B.Tech with 1st Class or equivalent in the area of Food Technology / Food Science & Technology / Biotechnology
Internship Requirements:
Selected interns would be required to assist the scientists in various assignments in the field of Food Science & Technology-related areas.
Age Limit:
Candidates should not have exceeded 25 years of age as on the last date of receiving the online applications i.e., 28/11/2025. Relaxation in age limit for the candidates belonging to the category of SC/ST/PwBD/Women and the category of OBC(NCL) shall be 05 years and 03 years respectively.
Terms and Conditions:
- Only those candidates who have already acquired the Essential Qualification & whose results have been declared are eligible to apply. Results awaited /final semester appeared or are appearing, and they are not eligible to apply for the position.
- The applications will be shortlisted by a designated committee according to the current requirement, and the candidates shortlisted for interview in Physical mode will be displayed on the CSIR-CFTRI website. No TA/DA will be given to the candidates for attending the interview.
- In the event of a large number of applications, the duly constituted committee will adopt its own criteria for short-listing the candidates to restrict the number of candidates to be called for interview in Physical mode to a reasonable number by any one or more of the following methods:
- On the basis of the percentage of marks obtained in the Essential Qualification.
- On the basis of higher educational qualifications than the minimum prescribed in the advertisement.
- On the basis of experience.
- On the basis of the written test.
- Any other methodology as deemed fit by the Committee.
- Based on the performance of candidates in the interview, the results of selected candidates against the number of positions will be declared and posted on the CFTRI website.
- The Engagement shall be temporary for a Maximum period of 2 years, and the research intern engagement, directly or indirectly, shall not provide any right/claim for regularization for a permanent post of CSIR-CFTRI/CSIR, against any post or otherwise under any legal conditions or precedent.
- The performance of the research intern would be reviewed periodically so that anyone not found up to the mark could be terminated. The engagement may be terminated at any time by the office without assigning any reasons.
- Candidates who are applying for the research intern position shall ensure that they fulfil the essential qualifications. If they apply without meeting the essential qualifications, it will be considered that they are providing false or misleading information. The ONUS OF THIS ACTION WILL BE ON THE CANDIDATE and not on the Institute. In case they are found not fulfilling the essential criteria or have provided misleading information, then their candidature may be rejected at any stage of selection or after selection.
- The Director, CSIR-CFTRI, has the right to amend, delete, and add Terms & Conditions to this notification and also reserves the right to cancel the advertisement without assigning any reason thereof or reserves the right not to fill up the position, if required. The number of vacancies indicated above may vary, i.e., it may increase or decrease at the time of actual selection.
- CANVASSING IN ANY FORM AND/OR BRINGING ANY INFLUENCE, POLITICAL OR OTHERWISE, WILL BE TREATED AS A DISQUALIFICATION FOR THE POSITION.
