USP is hiring a Scientist III for the Synthetics Laboratory in Hyderabad to support synthesis and delivery of USP Reference Standards, impurity development, and multi-scale API synthesis. The Scientist Job role involves synthetic route design, literature research, QMS compliance, and analytical interpretation to support global pharmaceutical quality.
Job Details
This Scientist Job role includes planning and executing synthesis from mg to multigram/KG scale, performing literature searches, designing cost-effective synthetic pathways, procuring reagents, conducting purification, troubleshooting
synthesis challenges, documenting experiments as per QMS, managing lab equipment, and ensuring timely project completion. The candidate should adhere to lab safety norms and maintain accurate project communication and documentation.About the Company

Educational Requirements for Scientist Job Role:
- Ph.D. in Synthetic Organic Chemistry with 1–3 years post-doctoral/industry experience, OR
- M.Sc. in Organic Chemistry with 6–8 years industry experience in API R&D/CDMO/CRO
- Strong expertise in synthetic organic chemistry, spectral interpretation (NMR, IR, HPLC, MS), and process development
Key Responsibilities for Scientist Job Role:
- Literature search & synthetic route design
- Small to large-scale synthesis of APIs/impurities
- Purification via chromatography, crystallization, flash systems
- Analytical interpretation (IR, NMR, MS, elemental analysis)
- Troubleshoot synthesis & purification issues
- Ensure QMS adherence & documentation accuracy
- Manage reagents, equipment calibration & lab safety
- Packaging of synthesized compounds & timely project execution
- Cross-functional team communication & project reporting
Skills Required for Scientist Job Role:
- Proven synthetic organic chemistry expertise
- Strong troubleshooting & process development skills
