Job Purpose: We are looking for an organic chemist (Master’s) to address synthetic challenges and support scale-up activities in the process research and development (R&D) group. Apply at Syngene Careers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work independently in the lab to develop safe and robust chemical processes for intermediates and API preparation.
  • Perform literature searches and bench-scale reactions to support R&D activities.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols during lab and scale-up work.
  • Effectively communicate with team members and project leads.
  • Document all lab activities promptly in the Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN).

Educational Qualification:

  • Master’s in Organic Chemistry from a reputed institute/university.

Technical/Functional Skills:

Essential:

  • Strong understanding of organic chemistry fundamentals.
  • Coordination with multi-disciplinary teams (Process R&D, Pilot Plant, Process Safety).
    Preferable:
  • Experience in Pharmaceutical Process R&D.
  • Basic knowledge of analytical data from NMR, HPLC, and GC.

Experience Required: 1–5 years

Behavioral Skills:

  • Team player, collaboration, commitment.
  • Strong reading, presentation, and communication skills.
