Key Responsibilities:

  • Own problem resolution for moderately complex components, systems, and subsystems.
  • Identify exhaust aftertreatment 1D simulation modeling needs in collaboration with functional and system integration teams.
  • Plan and prioritize simulation model development efforts.
  • Develop and evaluate 1D engine exhaust aftertreatment simulation models and tools.
  • Collaborate with catalyst suppliers on functional simulation model implementation.
  • Deploy modeling technologies to support Analysis-Led Design (ALD) in emission solutions.
  • Train and support internal users on Cummins’ modeling tools.
  • Apply simulation software like AVL-Cruise M, MATLAB/SIMULINK, and Python to achieve project goals.
  • Participate in Pre-Program Planning (PPP), Product Preceding Technology (PPT), Value Package Introduction (VPI), and Engineering Standard Work (ESW) processes.
  • Support decisions with data-driven insights and contribute to technical documentation.

Experience

  • Entry-level to early career professionals with 0–6 years of experience.
  • Knowledge of chemical reaction kinetics, catalysis, thermodynamics, and gas dynamics.
  • Hands-on experience with engineering simulation software and programming languages such as MATLAB, Python, AVL-FIRE, or AVL-Cruise M.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Additional Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and plan 1D engine exhaust aftertreatment modeling initiatives.
  • Work with catalyst suppliers to improve functional model development.
  • Support Analysis-Led Design (ALD) through simulation and performance testing.
  • Mentor internal users on aftertreatment models and tools.
  • Demonstrate interest in computer modeling, programming, and simulation-based design.
