Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering.
- Strong knowledge of chemical engineering, process technology, and relevant codes and standards.
- Excellent interpersonal and complex problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in process design review, process simulation, pinch analysis, CW, and flare networks.
Experience Required:
- Experience in Acrylonitrile technology; exposure to other C4/C3 derivatives is a plus.
- Experience with project, commissioning, or startup preferred.
- Minimum 6 months deputation at the site during the commissioning phase.
- Candidates with experience in C4 chemical plants (e.g., BD/HPIB) are preferred.
Technologist Role Job Description:
The Sr. Technologist – Olefinic Chemicals will support manufacturing performance targets, lead root cause analyses of complex process issues, and define process/equipment improvements to enhance efficiency and capacity. The role also involves evaluating technologies, catalysts, and chemicals, as well as participating in commercial plant trials and PSM activities.
Technologist Role Key Responsibilities:
- Support manufacturing to achieve performance targets.
- Lead root cause analysis for complex process/engineering issues.
- Define process improvements and upgrades for higher efficiency.
- Identify and prioritize plant improvements for CAPEX, PIOs, and REVAMP projects.
- Review process engineering documents.
- Evaluate technology, catalysts, chemicals, additives, and fuels.
- Audit and benchmark plant/product/energy performance.
- Ensure milestones for pilot and scale-up studies.
- Anticipate technological constraints and recommend alternatives.
- Participate in commercial plant trials.
- Develop, validate, customize, and maintain simulation/APC models.
- Prepare final technology comparison reports.
- Coach and mentor GETs (Graduate Engineer Trainees).
