Job Purpose
Syngene is seeking a Master’s-qualified organic chemist who can address synthetic challenges and support scale-up activities within the Process Research and Development group.
Key Responsibilities
- Work independently in the lab to develop safe and robust chemical processes for intermediates and APIs in drug development.
- Conduct basic literature searches.
- Perform multiple reactions at the bench to support R&D activities.
- Ensure adherence to all safety protocols during R&D and scale-up activities.
- Communicate effectively with team members and project leads.
- Document laboratory activities in ELN in a timely manner.
Educational Qualification

Master’s in Organic Chemistry from a reputed institute/university.
Technical & Functional Skills
Essential:
- Strong understanding of organic chemistry fundamentals.
- Strong academic track record.
- Ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including Process R&D, Pilot Plant, and Process Safety.
Preferred:
- Previous experience in Pharmaceutical Process R&D.
- Basic knowledge of analytical techniques like NMR, HPLC, and GC.
Experience
1–5 years of relevant experience in Organic Chemistry or Process R&D.
