Job Description
As an Associate Digital Innovation Engineer – Chemical Engineer at Buckman, you will join the remote monitoring team in Chennai to create and use advanced digital tools for monitoring customer facilities worldwide. You will help detect and diagnose system anomalies, optimize system performance, support installation and commissioning, and contribute to user acceptance testing. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with global stakeholders, contribute to digital transformation projects, and support multiple industries while working rotating night shifts.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor global customer facilities in paper, water, leather, and performance chemicals sectors
- Detect, diagnose, and respond to system anomalies in real time
- Optimize system performance remotely and assist with commissioning and installation
- Handle device management and user acceptance testing
- Collaborate with sales and service teams to ensure consistent system management
- Work rotating night shifts as part of the remote monitoring team
- Contribute to the development and implementation of digital tools and platforms
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, or related field
- 1–2 years of experience in chemical engineering
- Strong communication skills in English and ability to work with global teams
- Aptitude to learn and work with digital tools and technologies
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in chemical engineering
- Experience with open-source data analytics tools like R, Python, MATLAB
- Expertise with data visualization and analytics platforms like SAS, Power BI, RapidMiner, KNIME
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Knowledge of Internet of Things (IoT) applications
