Job Description:
The Product Compliance Specialist will collect, validate, and manage product compliance data to ensure that Farnell complies with environmental and safety legislation worldwide. This role involves direct interaction with customers to address compliance queries, as well as collaboration with suppliers and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect product compliance data, including RoHS, REACH, SCIP, TSCA, PFAS, POPs, California Proposition 65, Conflict Minerals, UL, and CE, among others.
- Work within Salesforce to handle and resolve customer compliance requests.
- Validate and maintain product compliance data in official systems of record.
- Archive and manage compliance evidence from suppliers.
- Clearly communicate compliance requirements to suppliers and internal teams.
- Review discrepancy reports to ensure data consistency.
- Develop data rules to automate compliance processes.
- Stay informed about emerging compliance developments worldwide.
- Support one-off compliance requests from internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage customer BOM requests for compliance data.
- Provide status reports that detail both completed and pending work.
- Develop and update work instructions for compliance processes.
- Deliver training on compliance topics.
- Suggest process improvements for compliance workflows.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field.
- Less than 2 years of experience; background with electronic components preferred.
- Strong English communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to handle multiple projects.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to work effectively with international teams and meet bespoke customer requirements.
