Job Description:
Applications are invited for the position of Postdoctoral Fellow (RA-I level) in the laboratory of Dr. Sunil Laxman at inStem. The selected candidate will engage in cutting-edge research on quantitative analysis of mitochondrial proteins and redox-dependent changes in mitochondrial and cytosolic proteins using chemical-based probing in cell lines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Quantitative chemical biology research focused on mitochondrial proteins.
- Apply LC/MS/MS mass spectrometry-based proteomics.
- Utilize software like MaxQuant and ProteinPilot (Sciex).
- Perform sample preparations including ReDiMi labeling, IP-MS, and PTM enrichment.
- Analyze enzyme functions and kinetics with a strong focus on quantitative biology.
- Contribute to publications and collaborate within a fast-paced, interdisciplinary research team.
Qualifications:
- PhD in Chemistry or Chemical Biology.
- Demonstrated expertise in chemical biology and activity-based chemical probing (with publications).
- Hands-on experience in proteomics and LC/MS/MS.
- Proficient in software like MaxQuant and ProteinPilot.
- Strong background in quantitative biology, enzyme kinetics, and functional annotation.
Tenure: Contractual appointment for up to one year, renewable based on review and funding.
