ABOUT THE PROGRAM
WEnyan is a scholarship and mentoring program for supporting women in Chemistry and allied areas. The program aims to provide financial support, in terms of scholarships and prototyping grants, to girls from marginalized communities/low-income groups, in Maharashtra who want to carry out research in the following domain areas

●Fuel Cells/Batteries
●Pharmacology/Drug Discovery
● Material Science
●Herbal Formulations
● Nutraceutical
● Agro-Chemistry
●Environment/Sustainability
● Metallurgy :Alloy Chemistry/Pyrometallurgy, Hydrometallurgy, Electrochemistry
●Internal Ballistics and Chemical Reaction and Energy Transport /Molecular Ballistics/Forensic Ballistics and Chemical Analysis
Criteria for selection
❑ Women students in the Final year of the Undergraduate program
(2025-26)
(B.Sc. / B. Tech./B.E./ B. Pharm. & equivalent degree)
❑ Women students in the Final year of the Postgraduate program
(2025-26)
(M.Sc./M. Tech./ M.E./ M. Pharm. & equivalent degree)
❑ Completed Undergraduate or Master’s and want to pursue
entrepreneurship Or Ph.D. students in their first 3 years
Benefits:
INR.15,000 per month for 6 months (Post-graduate students)
INR.15,000 per month for 6 months + INR. 2 Lakhs for prototype development (Early-stage entrepreneurs)
Objectives
• To increase enrolment of women in higher education STEM programs.
• To reduce dropout rates of women post‐graduation.
• To skill women in high end scientific techniques; training/orientation for
innovation in STEM, making them employment ready.
• To promote women-led, science-based start-ups.
• To create a supportive ecosystem for women in science to build
professional networks, mentoring groups, meet women role models
and overall benefit from peer to peer learning and develop leadership
skills.
