IIT KANPUR invites application for the post of Project Post-Doctoral Fellow in the DRDO Project
Essential Qualification
- Ph.D. in Physics/ Physical Chemistry/Chemical Engineering.
- The candidate should have a significant knowledge in solid-state physics/chemistry, quantum mechanics, density functional theory and ab-initio molecular simulations.
- The candidate should have a significant background in molecular simulations, force-field development and optimizations.
- The candidate should have experience in coding in python, and familiarity with Linux-based HPC environment.
- Knowledge on machine-learning is a plus.
Desirable qualification
- Additional experience in molecular simulation of crystalline materials, reaction dynamics, QM/MM approaches or, ReaxFF framework.
- Experience in using VASP/Quantum ESPRESSO/CP2K, LAMMPS, DeepMDKit
Nature of Work
The candidate would be responsible for developing models for High Energy Materials using Machine learning Potentials and within the framework of ReaxFF, compare with the existing models. The candidate would be working with two members of the group. The candidate will also have to guide the Ph.D. student and assist the PI in other research activities.
Duration of Appointment
- The appointment for the above posts initially will be for 1 year, which will be extended with mutual consent If performance of the candidate is good,
- The post is purely temporary and on a contractual basis.
- Salary Range: 60,000/5000/85000
