Job Title: QA Specialist I

Position Objective:
Responsible for executing various tasks associated with Quality Control and Quality Assurance, including proper product sampling, labeling, and documentation.
Job Description:
- Quality Assurance and shipping duties (including but not limited to): Collect and ship product samples to US according to quality plan; scan documentation to US quality team; create and apply product labels; perform inventory cycle counts
- Work with Kemin’s inventory management system
- Responsible for assisting the Quality India Lead with compliance to Kemin’s QMS (including but not limited to): HACCP/FSP plans, document control, batch records, Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) program
- Work closely with U.S. Quality Manager and Quality India lead on: customer complaints, reporting deviations, change management, rework protocols, SOP development and review
- Support Quality India lead with internal and external audits of manufacturing facilities, and quality laboratories in compliance with U.S. FDA and local GMP/GLP standards, as needed
- Support Quality India lead with hosting regulatory and customer inspections (local and foreign), as needed
- Attend annual GMP training and assist with training operations staff annually on GMPs
- Communicate daily with U.S. Quality Manager, Quality India lead and/or QA team on quality-related issues and product release activities
Qualifications:
- Masters in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Biotechnology or related field
- 5-7 years of experience in a quality position, emphasis in quality assurance preferred
- 1-2 years auditing experience
- Previous lab experience highly desired
- Solid understanding of both U.S. and Indian regulations related to foods and dietary supplement GMPs
