Job Description:  

 

MAIN JOB PURPOSE:
The job holder will need to solve problems via generation of new scientific and technological concepts and validate their feasibility with internal stakeholders. Conduct on the bench experimentation and standard scientific reporting. Collaborate with external researchers including academicians. The job holder will also be responsible for project initiation, idea generation, networking within R&D, intellectual property protection and delivery of project deliverables and Patenting.

DESCRIPTION)
Identify consumer-relevant ideas to work on, especially for HC and PC categories; The topic can range from surface cleaning to non-sticking, provide hygiene benefit, improve stability, deposition and efficacy of a lead active, etc. Validate the feasibility of the idea(s) with key internal stakeholders
Generate scientific and technological solution approaches based on application of nanoscience and technology; Validate via bench work and early prototypes.
In cases where experimentations cannot be done internally, identify potential OI partners for possible collaboration; Make agreement along with OI.
Engage with SEAC, Patents and Regulatory for safety, patentability and clearance for use of the possible leads

Qualifications: 

  • Expertise on Materials Chemistry / Inorganic Chemistry / Process Engineering, preferably a PhD on any of these and more preferably having a couple of years of post-doctoral experience on this.
  • Expertise on synthesis, characterization and applications of materials, especially inorganic nanomaterials and composites.
  • A brilliant overall academic record with good publications (for PhDs) or 3-5 years of experience in developing industrial products incorporating nanomaterials.
  • Adequate skills and competencies commensurate with relevant Unilever Standards of Leadership.
