Project Details

Project Title: Rational design of broad-spectrum antifungal peptides and peptide-based enzyme mimics for neutralization of mycotoxins

Project Investigators:

  • Prof. Debirupa Mitra (Chemical Engineering)
  • Prof. Arnab Dutta (Chemical Engineering)
  • Prof. Abhishek Saha (Chemistry)

Eligibility Criteria

  • M.E./M.Tech. in Chemical Engineering / Biotechnology or M. Pharm. or M.Sc. in Biotechnology / Biochemistry / Microbiology / Life Sciences / Medicinal Chemistry, or allied disciplines with a minimum of 60% marks (or equivalent CGPA).
  • Candidate valid GATE/NET/any other National examination will be preferred.
  • Interest in pursuing PhD in the relevant area.

Required Skills

  • In Vitro Microbiology & Enzymology (antifungal assays, cytotoxicity assays, hemolysis assays, functional assays for mycotoxin degradation e.g. quantification via HPLC/ELISA)
  • Experience in handling animal models for safety, pharmacokinetics, and efficacy studies will be preferred.

Salary

Fellowship (inclusive of HRA @30%): ₹48,100/month
