Job Details:
- Position: Post-Doctoral Research Fellow
- Topic: Gasification of High Ash Coal in Bubbling Fluidized Bed Gasifier: Process Optimization & Scale Up Center – Centre of Clean Coal Energy & Net Zero (CLEANZ), a Centre of Excellence set up in collaboration with Coal India Ltd at IIT Hyderabad with a thrust in R&D and technology development.
- Type of Position: The position is for 11 months, with possibility of extension subject to performance through a review process.
- Fellowship: 58,000 to 67,000 (+27% HRA) based on prior experience (RA-I/II/III)
- Experience: Fresh Ph.D. (Thesis submitted) or 1-2 years of post-doctoral/relevant industrial R&D experience.
Eligibility:
- Ph.D. in Chemical Engg/Mechanical Engineering or Ph.D. in Chemistry with relevant research/industrial experience related to experimental operation or numerical simulation of fluidized bed coal gasification systems.
- Publication in Scopus indexed journals and/or international conferences of repute is highly preferred.
- The candidate should have good academic records throughout and good writing/communication skills.
- Candidates should not have published in Predatory Journals.
Job Description (initial 11 month period):
- Design, procurement, installation, assembly and testing of a fluidized bed bench scale gasifier optimized for the gasification of low grade high ash coal.
- Development of Multi-phase reacting flow CFD modelling of the coal gasification process in ANSYS-FLUENT software suite for the reactor.
- Working both solo and with a team; mentoring of Masters and PhD scholar.
- Report preparation, article/patent writing and lab inventory management, implementation at TRL5/6 level.
Performance Matrices:
- IP generated, papers published, working solo and as a team member, project administration-execution-coordination, performance review.
- Expected Outcomes – IP, publications, Scalable Technology.
