Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Prototype development
- Due diligence studies, such as stability studies and performance evaluation.
- Quality evaluation: Analysis and sensorial evaluations of finished product.
- Ensure documentation of prototype formulations, raw material, stability studies, and pilot plant operations.
- Maintaining a library of competitor products.
Requirements
Qualifications: M. Sc. / M.Tech (Oils, Oleochemicals and Surfactants Technology / other branches of Chemistry / M. Tech. (Cosmetics) from a reputed University, passed in First Class, with 3 to 6 years’ experience.
Work Experience:
- Has worked in the area of Personal Care product development and evaluations (usage and product life cycle).
- Has hands-on experience in product development or formulation development, prototype development, and wet chemical analysis related to product and in handling instruments such as pH meter, Moisture Analyzer, Viscometer, and other basic analytical instruments used in Personal Care.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements of soaps and cosmetics.
- Has been involved in cosmetic formulation development activities, such as preparing batches and conducting stability and sensorial evaluations.
- Is exposed to and comfortable with scale-up mechanisms, batch making in a pilot plant, and sensorial studies of personal care products.
Skills:
- Sound understanding of the principles of Chemistry, process chemistry of Soaps and solids.
- Familiarity with raw materials used in personal care products and properties.
- Excellent communication skills (spoken and written).
- Clarity in thoughts, enthusiastic, self-driven, and willing to learn.
- Ability to work in cross-functional teams. Self-driven, with the ability to work with cross-functional teams.
Knowledge: Knowledge of cosmetics, personal wash, bar soaps, and home care formulation development, wet chemistry, and instrumental analysis methods.
Knowledge: Knowledge of Surfactants, oleo chemicals, and Raw Material functional benefits. Adequate knowledge of the usage of basic IT and statistical tools. Basic computer knowledge
