Job Details

The Digital Transformation Manager role at Unilever is designed to drive large-scale digital initiatives across manufacturing operations in India and Nepal. Key Skills and Responsibilities:

Digital Strategy & Vision:

  • Develop and articulate a compelling, long-term digital transformation strategy for manufacturing, aligned with the company’s overall corporate objectives for growth, market leadership, and sustainability.
  • Stay up to date with emerging Industry 4.0 technologies (e.g., IIoT, AI/ML, Digital Twin, Advanced Robotics, Edge Computing) and assess their applicability and potential for disruptive solutions within our manufacturing environment.
  • Identify and evaluate emerging digital technologies to enhance operational efficiency, product quality, and data-driven decision-making, and the implementation of Digital Tools for end-to-end manufacturing.

Program Management & Execution:

  • Lead the end-to-end management of complex, multi-site digital transformation programs, from idea generation and business case preparation to technical feasibility checking, piloting, and large-scale deployment.
  • Ensure robust project governance, resource allocation, and risk management across the digital portfolio.

Manex & Digital Integration:

  • Champion the seamless integration of Manex (UMS) principles with digital technologies, ensuring digitalization acts as an accelerator for continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., data-driven OEE optimization, predictive maintenance, automated quality control).
  • Collaborate closely with global and regional Manex teams to develop and embed integrated tools and methodologies.

Digital Factory:

  • Drive Digital Factory Plan Implementation for the relevant use cases.
  • Full in-depth understanding of digital factory master apps and drive the expansion of some master apps across factories.
  • Regular cadence between sites and the Digital team to drive effective governance of the digital program.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret data from various sources to identify trends, measure the effectiveness of implemented solutions, and provide regular reports to management.

Change Management & Culture Development:

  • Lead change management efforts to foster a strong digital culture across all levels of the organization.
  • Design and conduct workshops aimed at imparting the necessary digital skills and tools to factory teams, building internal capabilities, and promoting a data-driven mindset.

Other Requirements: Must have knowledge of Power BI, UI/UX, Python, Cybersecurity, IT-OT, ChatGPT, and other AI apps (preferable).

Eligibility

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering with a strong technical and analytical background in Data Science/ Analysis (preferably Chemical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, Instrumentation).
  • A strong drive (aptitude) towards Digital Operations.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Preferred / Desirable:

  • At least 3-5 years of experience in a digitization or similar role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge in the Digitalization at Manufacturing Site, Industry 4.0 implementation, etc.
