IIT Palakkad has a summer internship program that aims to introduce undergraduate and postgraduate students to research so as to enthuse them and get them interested in a career in teaching and research. This is a six-week-long residential programme, and it combines hands-on research training with a variety of

Eligibility
Science, Engineering, and Humanities: The programme is open to postgraduate students (including 4th and 5th year students of integrated master’s programmes) and those who are in the 3rd and 4th year of their four-year Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology/Sciences.
Application Process
The application is to be submitted online at the portal available on the homepage of IIT Palakkad.
Selection will be made on the basis of academic record, aptitude for research, accomplishments, and area(s) of research interest.
Please note the following:
- Only those who satisfactorily complete the programme will be given the internship certificate.
- Financial support of Rs. 8000/- per month (Rs. 12000/- for the entire period) will be provided to all the selected candidates.
- Accommodation on a shared basis is available on campus. Hostel room rent, along with mess food charges, should be paid by the intern students.
- Students from IIT Palakkad are not eligible to apply for the summer internship program of the institute.
- Foreign nationals currently studying in Indian universities/institutes will be treated on par with Indian nationals.
