Job Summary:
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Procurement Executive to manage the procurement of Raw Materials (RM) and Packaging Materials (PM) for our personal care and skincare product portfolio. The ideal candidate should possess hands-on experience in sourcing, vendor management, negotiation, and ensuring the timely availability of materials while maintaining cost efficiency and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Procurement Operations:
- Manage end-to-end procurement of RM/PM, including planning, sourcing, negotiations, and order execution.
- Ensure timely availability of all materials as per production and new product development (NPD) requirements.
- Maintain optimal inventory levels and monitor material consumption trends.
Vendor Management:
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard new vendors in line with quality and compliance standards.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure reliability and performance.
- Conduct vendor audits and performance reviews periodically.
Cost & Negotiation:
- Drive cost optimization through strategic sourcing, alternative vendor development, and price negotiations.
- Analyze market trends and price fluctuations to ensure competitive procurement.
Quality & Compliance:
- Coordinate with QA/QC, R&D, and Production teams to ensure material specifications and quality requirements are met.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and documentation standards (COA, MSDS, specifications, etc.).
Coordination & Reporting:
- Collaborate closely with Production, Planning, R&D, and Finance teams for seamless operations.
- Maintain and update procurement reports, MIS, and vendor databases.
- Track and report procurement KPIs (lead time, cost savings, vendor performance, etc.).
Key Skills & Competencies:
- Strong understanding of personal care/skincare/cosmetics raw and packaging materials.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP / Oracle / Tally / equivalent).
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
- Vendor development and relationship management skills.
- Strong coordination and multitasking ability.
Preferred Background:
- Experience in Personal Care, Skincare, Cosmetics, or FMCG industry (Mandatory).
- Exposure to sourcing of active ingredients, surfactants, emulsifiers, and primary/secondary packaging materials like tubes, bottles, jars, cartons, etc.
- Prior involvement in NPD sourcing or cost-saving projects will be an added advantage.
