  • Position: Project Executive Officer
  • Consolidated Salary Range: INR 50,400-126,000 per month (Salary commensurate with experience & skills)
  • Nature of Position: Temporary / Contractual
  • Duration of Appointment: 1 Year or until the project ends (whichever is earlier); renewable annually based on performance.

Qualifications / Experience:

  • Ph.D.*/Master’s degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Geophysics, Earth and Atmospheric Science, Climate Science, Sustainability, or a relevant field, or Bachelor’s degree with significant experience and expertise in the relevant area. An MBA or other advanced degree is preferred, with experience in managing and driving projects.
  • Proficiency in written communication, including emails, letters, and excellent content writing capability for reports, newsletters, and social media posts.
  • Knowledge of paper filing, accounting, and ordering/purchasing procedures, and adaptability to a variety of tasks such as fixing items and follow-ups.
  • Experience in managing offices, laboratories, and large projects.
  • Familiarity with guidelines and processes in government institutes, including the Government eMarketplace.
  • Ability to monitor timelines, execute projects smoothly, arrange meetings, and coordinate with project teams and stakeholders.
  • Prior experience in logistical arrangements for meetings, seminars, workshops, and coordinating visits.
  • Pleasant personality, excellent interpersonal and public speaking skills, team player, with working knowledge of English and Hindi.
  • Acquainted with computer-based office applications.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with faculty, researchers, and external partners for various research and academic activities, including organizing meetings.
  • Assist faculty, students, PhDs, and Post Docs in conducting experiments and training, and supervising teaching assistants and students in laboratories.
  • Assist and facilitate both internal and external users; contribute to proposal writing for securing funding.
  • Collaborate across teams inside and outside IIT Kanpur for interdisciplinary research leading to high-quality publications in the sustainability domain.
  • Maintain databases and assist in the operation and maintenance of in-house equipment.
  • Organize conferences, seminars, and workshops.
  • Support procurement of equipment in coordination with PIs, including preparation of tender documents and evaluation.
  • Handle miscellaneous office work as required by the Coordinator CoE-Atman.
  • Undertake any other task assigned by the Coordinator CoE-Atman.
