IIT Jodhpur has a provision for direct admission to the meritorious B.Tech. students from NITs to pursue Ph.D. In order to provide prior exposure to the state-of-the-art research labs of different academic units, the institute has launched a summer internship program “Summer Undergraduate Research
at Jodhpur (SURAJ)” from 2025 summer onwards. The following are the main highlights of the SURAJ:- Opportunity for NIT students to join PhD program at IIT after BTech./B.S./M.Sc.

- Stipend of Rs.6000/- per month for maximum 2 months
SURAJ offers an opportunity to gain research experience with distinguished faculty from IIT Jodhpur. Rules During Internship
The selected interns will be required to adhere to all the rules and code of conduct of IIT Jodhpur during the internship programme.

Stipend Eligibility
An intern will be eligible for a stipend of Rs. 6000/- per month (for a maximum duration of 2 months) subject to eligibility conditions. Even if a student does not meet the criteria, participation without stipend is allowed, and faculty may support through projects.
