- Education: B.Tech / BSc / Diploma in Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, Environmental, or Electrical Engineering. Additional qualification in Advanced/Post Diploma in Industrial Safety preferred.
- Experience: 2–5 years in HSE within manufacturing, process safety, and construction safety.
- Skills: Proficiency in spoken and written English; ability to work under supervision and follow regulatory standards.
The Opportunity
As an Environmental and Employee Health & Safety (HSE) Entry Professional (P1), you will be responsible for supporting activities that safeguard the environment and employee well-being. This includes developing and implementing policies to identify and mitigate workplace and environmental hazards, investigating accidents and incidents, liaising with engineers, management, and regulatory authorities, and ensuring compliance with organizational and government standards. You will also provide safety advice and training, conduct audits, and maintain relationships with the community and stakeholders impacted by the company’s environmental performance.
This entry-level role applies broad theoretical knowledge typically gained through advanced education. Work is closely supervised, problems are usually straightforward, and you will explain facts, policies, and practices related to HSE.
Responsibilities
- Report to the HSE Lead to support plant safety performance.
- Conduct daily HSE patrolling and report unsafe acts and conditions with corrective actions.
- Manage reporting and investigation of industrial accidents and occupational diseases.
- Facilitate accident investigations and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain records of first aid, medical treatments, lost time injuries, disabling injuries, and fatalities.
- Coordinate unit safety committee meetings and organize campaigns, competitions, and contests to maintain worker engagement in safety procedures.
- Ensure the availability of MSDS for all chemicals and disseminate safety information to employees.
- Audit firefighting and first aid equipment periodically and submit monthly reports to the Unit Head.
- Discuss and implement recommendations from safety, environmental, and occupational health audits, risk assessments, and emergency plans.
- Ensure compliance with internal and external regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
