  • Job Title: Postdoctoral Fellow (Research Associate II)
  • Research Project Overview: Advertisement for a postdoctoral fellow position within a CEFIPRA-funded Department research project in the field of Chemistry.
  • No. of Position: One Post-Doctoral Fellow (Project Scientist-I).
  • Duration: 1 year (initially for 6 months, which is extendable to another 6 months or more based on performance and mutual interest).
  • Salary: 77,000 (basic) + HRA (20%)
  • Deadline: January 05, 2025, by 10 PM

Project Description: The project focuses on developing long-lived luminescent probes using organic molecular materials and polymers for information encryption and photocatalysis. Thorough time-resolved spectroscopic analyses (TCSPC, TRES), time-resolved microscopy (FLIM), and electrochemical techniques will be employed for the characterization of the developed materials. The candidate will drive the Indo-French collaborative project working with Dr. Abhijit Patra at IISER Bhopal and Dr. Rémi Métivier and Dr. Clémence Allain at “Supramolecular and Macromolecular Photophysics and Photochemistry” (PPSM, CNRS) located at the École Normale Supérieure Paris-Saclay, University Paris-Saclay. The candidate will have the opportunity to visit the PPSM laboratory at ENS Paris-Saclay for one month per year, fully sponsored by CEFIPRA, to conduct research work.

Eligibility:

  • Ph.D. degree, working in the relevant domain of the project or Ph.D. thesis submitted, working in the field of proposed research, with quality research publications.
  • Three years or more of experience in the field of the project in reputed academic institutions, industry, or science and technology organizations.
  • Relevant research experience and published first-author papers in reputed forums, particularly in the fabrication of conjugated organic molecular systems and polymers. Experience in time-resolved spectroscopy/microscopy is required.
  • M.Sc. or equivalent degree with a minimum of 60% marks or CGPA ≥ 7.0.
  • Mathematics at the 10+2 and/or undergraduate (Bachelor) level.
  • Below 40 years of age at the time of application.

Desirables: Candidates with a physical/organic chemistry background with experience in handling inert atmospheres, multi-step reactions, well-versed with time-resolved spectroscopy/microscopy, and experience in cell culture/cellular imaging will be preferred.
