Position Purpose:
The incumbent has evolving specialist knowledge in process and plant safety (subject matter specialist in process and
plant safety, PPS) of chemical plants and supports the safe operation of the plants, the appropriate protection of health and the environment in accordance with company policy and legal requirements, as well as obtaining and maintaining the necessary operating license.Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Initially observing followed subsequently by leading an interdisciplinary PHA team under supervision and documenting the results in a systematic risk assessment or in the management of change (MOC) procedure in order to develop adequate protection concepts for (MOC) procedure to develop adequate protection concepts of new or existing processes of low complexity from Bayer, in accordance with internal / external PPS directives & regulations and with utilization of the HAZOP methodology as well as recognized proven PPS expertise (with at least 2 years of experience).
- Support of the permitting process for new plants resp. for updating permitting documentation for existing plants.
- Participation in A4 certification discussions for validation of implementation of safety relevant measures prior to start up.
Qualification:
- Bachelor/ Master’s degree in chemistry or chemical engineering.
- Profound knowledge of process technology due to several years of working e.g., as Laboratory Expert resp. as service provider for the operation of chemical plants.
