Job Details

  • Position: Production Engineer (Oil & Gas)
  • Location: Bengaluru, Karnataka, India
  • Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Petroleum, Chemical, Mechanical, or relevant engineering disciplines (GPA ≥7.0).
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Production Engineer role.

Role Overview

This Production Engineer role focuses on supporting ExxonMobil’s global portfolio of Deepwater, Conventional, Unconventional, and Heavy Oil assets. You will collaborate with engineers and operators to analyze well and field performance, identify opportunities for production optimization, and implement solutions to enhance operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to optimize production schedules and debottleneck operations.
  • Champion production optimization initiatives by engaging with stakeholders and implementing process improvements.
  • Conduct field production system assessments to identify efficiency and capacity enhancements.
  • Support operator teams in production planning, reinstating offline volumes, and downtime optimization.
  • Develop, deploy, and sustain technologies for production optimization using data-driven or physics-based methods.
  • Conduct economic evaluations of well interventions and stimulation operations.
  • Manage production data and ensure quality assurance in measurement and allocation.
  • Mentor team members, enhancing technical capabilities and leadership skills.

Skills

  • Knowledge of inflow/outflow modeling, well testing, network modeling, well design, artificial lift systems, and reservoir surveillance.
  • Strong analytical skills for data-driven decision-making and optimization.
  • Hands-on experience with proprietary or vendor engineering analysis tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with engineering applications like IPM (GAP, PROSPER, Resolve), OFM, and Hysys.
  • Programming/scripting skills (Python, Matlab, C#).
  • Experience with data visualization software (Power BI, SeeQ, XHQ) and production database management (Energy Components, PI, SQL).
  • Familiarity with digital oilfield tools and workflows.
