Job Purpose

The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure that inspection and related activities are conducted in accordance with a defined quality system, and that only conforming product batches are released promptly for packaging.

Daily Activities

  • Gather details about batch status from pug mills, mixers, reactors, and other units from the previous shift.
  • Maintain updated ledgers, logbooks, and calibration records for instruments like viscometers, penetrometers, and color computers.
  • Inspect finished products and intermediates as per specifications and test methods outlined in master files.
  • Coordinate with production in case of deviations, record details, and ensure such issues don’t recur.
  • Conduct shopfloor and lab rounds to ensure compliance with procedures and ISO requirements.
  • Communicate with production teams regarding approvals, pending batches, or challenges.

Weekly/Monthly/Ad-hoc Activities

  • Review weekly and monthly production plans and check availability of master samples, test methods, and standard panels.
  • Analyze customer complaints, ensuring responses are sent within 24–48 hours as per system guidelines.
  • Conduct process audits, packing audits, and batching audits.
  • Support stability and exposure studies and provide insights to technical teams in case of deviations.
  • Ensure master samples and standard panels are prepared before expiry periods.
  • Provide necessary data for monthly reports and analysis of deviant batches.

Role Requirements

  • Qualification: Preferred – B.Sc Chemistry, Desirable – M.Sc Chemistry
  • Experience: 1–3 years in Quality Assurance or related roles
  • Skills: Knowledge of QA systems, ISO requirements, batch documentation, product testing, and cross-functional coordination.
