The National Agri-Food and Biomanufacturing Institute (formerly CIAB, Mohali) is inviting applications for a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) position under industry-funded internal research and development (R&D) projects. The National Agri-Food and Biomanufacturing Institute (formerly CIAB), an autonomous institute under the Department of Biotechnology, Govt. of India, is conducting a walk-in interview for one Junior Research Fellow (JRF) position.
- Interview Date: 7th October 2025
- Venue: CIAB, Knowledge City, Sector-81, Mohali, Punjab
- Registration Time: 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM
Position Details:
- Post: Junior Research Fellow (01 Position)
- Fellowship: ₹37,000 + HRA (with NET/GATE) or ₹28,000 + HRA (others)
- Age Limit: 30 years (relaxation as per DST/GoI rules)
- Tenure: Initially one year, extendable based on performance and project needs
Eligibility Criteria:
- Master’s degree in Chemistry (Organic, Inorganic, Physical, Electrochemistry, or Material Chemistry)
- Qualified NET/GATE or an equivalent national-level examination
Research Work:
The selected candidate will work on designing heterogeneous solid catalysts for the chemical/photochemical reactions of lignin valorization, as well as their electrochemical characterization.

- Selection will be based on interview and eligibility. In cases of high application volume, a written test may be conducted.
- Hostel facility may be provided, if available.
