Job Description

As an Associate Materials Science Engineer at MKS Inc., you will be part of the Materials Science Department under Chemical and Physical Characterization (CPC). You will work as an equal innovation partner in R&D, handling external customer samples for analysis and generating detailed reports. This role involves independent execution, evaluation, and documentation of materials science investigations using advanced instruments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Independently execute, evaluate, and document materials science investigations
  • Operate and maintain instruments like SEM, XRF, Optical Microscopy
  • Handle SAP, Plant Maintenance, data management, and customer interactions
  • Prepare and archive quality reports ensuring customer satisfaction
  • Ensure operational readiness of lab devices and troubleshoot as needed
  • Apply and enhance quality management systems (ISO 9001)
  • Participate in internal and external projects and consultations
  • Maintain quality and process control documentation
  • Execute tasks under the 5S/4R program and follow HSE rules
  • Maintain confidentiality of project/process information
  • Adhere to MKS Inc. compliance policies

Qualifications

  • B.Tech in Mechanical/Chemical/Material Engineering
  • 0–2 years of relevant experience
  • Strong hands-on mentality with result-oriented and independent work style
  • High sense of responsibility, discretion, and willingness to learn
  • Good teamwork skills and openness to change
  • Proficiency in English and MS Office tools (e.g., MS Teams)
