Job Overview
The Chemist – Field Operation will be responsible for monitoring drilling fluid parameters, testing samples, maintaining laboratory instruments, and ensuring high-quality standards in upstream oil & gas operations. This role is integral to supporting drilling, cementation, and production operations, providing safe, efficient, and cost-effective performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor drilling fluid parameters and assist in designing hydraulic programs to optimize hole cleaning and manage pore pressure.
- Analyse produced gas and water samples from CBM wells.
- Conduct testing and evaluation of proppant sand for procurement.
- Plan and support cement jobs, acidisation, and cement squeezing.
- Operate and maintain a wide range of laboratory instruments.
- Test cement, chemicals, and sand samples at the factory premises.
- Collaborate with drilling engineers, completion engineers, and G&G teams to enhance well performance.
- Implement quality control of chemicals to optimize cost and efficiency.
- Ensure the quality of mud and effective drilling operations.
- Perform quality control testing of wells, chemicals, and produced fluids.
Education Requirement
- BE (Chemical Engineering) or M.Sc. (Chemistry)
Experience Requirement
- Minimum 3 years of experience in upstream (E&P) Oil & Gas operations.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong foundation in drilling fluid analysis and laboratory operations.
- Expertise in cementation processes and chemical testing.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
