Job Description
As a Field Exec Trainee – Chem at RIL’s manufacturing site in Jamnagar, you will work on operating field equipment, ensuring safe handling of hazardous materials, supporting safety compliance, and assisting with day-to-day plant operations. This role will provide foundational experience in chemical plant processes and safety practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Abide by safe operating procedures within the operating range
- Act as a first responder to emergencies and suggest safety improvements
- Safely handle hazardous materials and plant wastes; contribute to housekeeping
- Support contract workmen in safe working practices
- Monitor and control field equipment as per SOPs, SOCs, LLF checklists, and ODR instruments
- Coordinate with the shift superintendent/panel executive
- Collect and deliver samples from the field for laboratory testing
- Report abnormal observations to the shift engineer/panel executive
- Perform handover/takeover of equipment from maintenance
- Conduct condition monitoring using portable instruments (ODR)
- Perform minor troubleshooting and maintenance
- Operate equipment efficiently and identify improvement opportunities
- Follow guidelines like TQM, EFQM, QCC, and 5S
- Maintain shift logs and follow instructions from supervisors
- Serve as a member of the Auxiliary Fire Squad
Qualifications
- B.Sc. / M.Sc. or Diploma in Chemical Engineering
- No prior experience required (freshers eligible)
- Skills & Competencies:
- Good housekeeping practices
- Upkeep of fire and safety equipment
- Maintaining field logbook/LLF checklist
- Waste segregation
- Equipment health monitoring and reporting
- Willingness to undergo training and continuous learning
