Job Description
IISER Kolkata is seeking a highly motivated Project Scientist-II to work on a Department of Biotechnology (DBT) funded project titled “Understanding the role of the Type II MLA system in OMV biogenesis towards developing an effective vaccine against Campylobacter jejuni in poultry.” The selected candidate will support the Principal Investigator in efficiently managing project operations, including project-related purchases, documentation, liaison with collaborating institutes, and communication with funding agencies. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to impactful research while developing expertise in project administration and coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Principal Investigator (Amirul Islam Mallick) in the day-to-day administration of the project.
- Coordinate project-related purchases and maintain records.
- Communicate with funding agencies and prepare required reports.
- Maintain liaison with collaborating institutes and facilitate research interactions.
- Support documentation and ensure compliance with funding guidelines.
Qualifications
- Doctoral Degree in Life Sciences, Chemical Sciences, or a relevant area from a recognized university.
- 1–3 years of experience in Research & Development in Industrial/Academic Institutions or Science & Technology Organisations (desirable).
- Strong organizational, communication, and project management skills.
- Upper age limit: 45 years (relaxation as per Government of India rules).
Additional Details
- Duration: Initially 1 year, extendable up to 3 years based on performance and funds.
- Pay: ₹67,000/- + 27% HRA per month (as per rules).
- Start Date: 01/10/2025 (tentative).
