Job Description
The Sr. Associate NPD will be responsible for developing new products based on assigned projects and ensuring they are delivered on time, on budget, and on target. This role requires a strong knowledge of dairy technology, product development principles, and a solid understanding of regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage product development projects with effective stakeholder collaboration.
- Develop prototypes, conduct sensory and analytical evaluations, and benchmark against market products.
- Guide product approval processes with customers.
- Work directly with production and QA teams during trial runs and start-up operations.
- Scale up R&D lab trials to plant-level production.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support R&D needs.
- Travel for product trials and evaluations as required.
- Supervise product development technicians and maintain R&D inventory.
- Develop and audit product development standards for 5S readiness.
- Create analytical methods for new and existing ingredients and products.
- Lead shelf-life testing and reporting.
- Maintain complete documentation for NPD projects.
- Operate and maintain pilot plant equipment to ensure sanitation and readiness.
- Establish HACCP plans for new products and uphold food safety systems.
- Ensure safety, standardized work, and compliance with quality standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Dairy Technology or Dairy Chemistry.
- 3–6 years of experience in research and/or product development.
- Expertise in natural and processed cheese manufacturing technology.
- Knowledge of formulation design, process improvement, and modifications.
- Familiarity with food safety principles, HACCP, and quality systems.
- Experience in cultured dairy products is preferred.
- Strong analytical skills with a deep understanding of dairy components.
- Willingness to travel up to 10% and work flexible hours.
