Core Purpose of the Role
The Research Associate will be responsible for conducting synthetic chemistry reactions, delivering final compounds within specified timelines, and maintaining compliance with Syngene’s Electronic Laboratory Notebook (ELN) policies. The role demands problem-solving skills, excellent knowledge of organic synthesis, and the ability to ensure safety and quality in all laboratory operations.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform synthetic chemistry reactions, workups, and compound purification using chromatography, crystallization, and related techniques.

Operate lab equipment and ensure generated samples are analyzed, results recorded, and samples packed for shipment.

Maintain detailed and accurate experiment/reaction observations in ELN as per project and Syngene guidelines.

Meet productivity expectations (# of compounds/month and # of steps/month) without compromising safety or quality.

Apply strong analytical interpretation and purification skills for final compound delivery.

Follow EHS protocols, handle chemicals safely, and adhere to emergency response procedures and waste segregation norms.

Ensure compliance with Syngene’s quality standards, confidentiality policies, and training requirements.
Education & Experience Requirements:

Education: M.Sc. in General or Organic Chemistry.

Experience: Up to 3 years.
Skills & Capabilities:

Strong knowledge of organic synthesis concepts and reaction mechanisms.

Ability to independently solve synthetic chemistry problems.

Proficiency in compound purification and analytical interpretation.

Familiarity with relevant laboratory instruments and equipment.
