About the Role
Jubilant Biosys Limited is seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Research Associate I to join our Discovery Chemistry division at our Bangalore R&D center. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge drug discovery programs, contribute to innovative research, and collaborate with global pharmaceutical leaders.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and plan synthetic routes for target molecules in alignment with project goals.
- Execute multi-step organic synthesis reactions at milligram to gram scale.
- Characterize synthesized compounds using spectroscopic and analytical techniques (NMR, LC-MS, IR, etc.).
- Conduct literature searches and retrieve synthetic pathways using databases like SciFinder.
- Troubleshoot synthetic challenges and resolve technical bottlenecks with innovative thinking.
- Maintain accurate documentation in electronic laboratory notebooks (eLNB) and ensure compliance with data integrity standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project execution.
Candidate Profile
- Education:
- M.Sc. in Organic Chemistry, General Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry
- M. Pharm with specialization in Medicinal Chemistry
- Experience:
- 1 to 3 years of hands-on experience in synthetic organic chemistry or medicinal chemistry in a pharmaceutical/biotech research environment
- Key Skills:
- Expertise in synthetic route design and execution
- Familiarity with spectroscopic techniques (NMR, IR, LC-MS)
- Sound understanding of medicinal chemistry principles
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Proficient in using scientific literature and chemical databases
- Excellent lab practices and documentation skills
