Position Description
Position Title: Research Scientist – Chemistry

Position Purpose:
To design and conduct scientific experiments, analyze and interpret results, and contribute to the discovery and pre-development of innovative molecules for crop protection and crop growth, thereby supporting the business goals of PI Industries.
Strategic Responsibilities:

Promote PI Industries’ values and innovation-driven culture

Drive performance and scientific output as per targets set by Chemistry leadership

Ensure IP security and contribute to patent applications

Stay current with developments in organic chemistry via literature and databases

Support team and group leaders in target setting and project delivery
Operational Responsibilities:

Achieve targets set by project leads
-
Document all research outcomes and maintain experimental records

Conduct literature reviews using Reaxys, SciFinder, patents, etc.

Perform safe and efficient synthetic chemistry experiments
-
Provide timely progress updates and actively seek technical feedback

Participate in technical meetings and maintain lab safety standards
Education & Experience:
-
MSc or PhD in Organic/Analytical Chemistry (India or abroad)

Postdoctoral experience preferred
-
1–7 years of industry experience (discovery, development, or process chemistry)

Preferred industries: Agrochemical, Fine Chemicals, Pharmaceutical
Skills & Competencies:

Strong in scientific experimentation, data analysis, and lab techniques

Collaborative mindset and ability to work across departments
