About The Company
Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking an Application Scientist (LSMS) in Bengaluru! Join a skilled team, supporting customers in Biopharma, Proteomics, Metabolomics, Lipidomics, and other sectors with Mass Spectrometry solutions.
Role Overview:
As an Application Scientist (LSMS), you will provide technical expertise and application support for mass spectrometry (MS) solutions—primarily LC-HRMS, LC-Triple Quad, and LC-Ion Trap MS—in proteomics, metabolomics, and biopharma domains.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide post-sales onsite and remote support to customers using advanced MS platforms.
- Respond to customer inquiries with application training, education, and troubleshooting.
- Assist sales teams with pre-sales demos and instrument evaluations.
- Deliver technical seminars and support organized scientific events.
- Build educational content, including white papers, application notes, training materials, SOPs, videos, and more.
- Plan and execute method development, optimization, and implementation for LC-MS workflows.
- Help establish Thermo Fisher as a preferred MS partner in key research markets.
Required Qualifications:
- MSc/ M.Tech/ M.Pharm/ PhD in Life Sciences, Analytical Chemistry, or related fields
- 4–5 years of hands-on experience with Mass Spectrometry workflows
- In-depth knowledge of wet lab, instrument operation, and MS software
- Experience in proteomics, biopharma, or metabolomics applications
- Strong experience with Orbitrap, Triple Quad, or Q-TOF MS platforms
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
Working Conditions:
- Ability to lift to 40 lbs without assistance
- Exposure to cold rooms/freezers, PPE requirements, and laboratory settings
- May work under varying environmental conditions
