Job Description
IQVIA is looking for a Clinical Data Coder 1 to support the Data Management (DM) team with coding and quality data management products. The candidate will perform Clinical Data Management and/or Coding activities and may also lead specific CDM tasks such as serving as the Lead Coder or Data Operations Coordinator (DOC) on large trials.
Essential Functions

Serve independently as a Clinical Data Coder and/or Lead Coder or DOC for one or more protocols.

Manage delivery of coding activities and/or standalone coding projects throughout the full study life cycle with minimal guidance.

Validate/test coding applications and programming of coding reports.

Test coding-related datasets, edits, or any associated programming activities.

Conduct data review and resolve data clarifications as Clinical Data Coder.

Manage coding-related project timelines with guidance from the DOC, Data Team Lead (DTL), or Manager.

Perform Serious Adverse Event (SAE) reconciliation activities.

Act as a back-up for a Lead Coder, DOC, or DTL as needed.

Conduct comprehensive quality control procedures and assist in implementing new technologies.

Proactively bring coding and project-related solutions to the DM team.

Ensure compliance with audit requirements for studies, including standalone coding projects.

Follow core operating procedures and work instructions as Clinical Data Coder.

Perform additional duties as directed by the study team or Manager.

Maintain effective communication and working relationships with the team.
Qualifications

A degree in pharmacy, dental, medical, nursing, life sciences, or a related field (or equivalent qualification).

Minimum 2 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience preferred for Clinical Data Coder.

Strong knowledge of medical terminologies, pharmacology, anatomy, and physiology.

Proficiency in medical dictionaries for coding (e.g., MedDRA, WHODD).

Comprehensive understanding of the Data Management process from study start-up to database lock.

High attention to detail and ability to independently resolve issues.

Familiarity with database technologies related to data management and coding.
-
Knowledge of operating procedures and ability to implement them effectively.

Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal as Clinical Data Coder.

Strong organizational and leadership abilities.

Proven ability to work collaboratively with co-workers, managers, and clients.

LPN – Licensed Practical Nurse – State Licensure required.
