QUALIFICATION: MSc (Organic Chemistry)
Experience: 2 to 6 years in chemical synthesis/Process development activities

DESIRED JOB PROFILE:
- Excellent knowledge of basic and advanced organic chemistry. Good knowledge of functional group conversion and multiple-step synthesis.
- Good expertise in handling various pyrophoric reactions.
- Organize work time so that several reactions are run concurrently.
- Conduct literature searches for specific target compounds, structures related to the target compound, or to determine specific conditions for compounds and reactions. Keep abreast of current scientific literature and discuss new findings with colleagues.
- Excellent knowledge in computer (MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint) and structure drawing (ChemDraw) and recording in an electronic lab notebook.
- Identify efficient and robust synthetic routes for the preparation of NCE compounds gm scale to kg scale. Synthesis, purification, and characterization of novel intermediates.
- Interpretation of analytical data to drive synthetic experimental plans and the ability to utilize tools such as Scifinder, etc., for scientific literature search are essential.
- Ability to handle batches varying from gm scale to kg scale.
- Recording of experiments, observations, and relevant data in laboratory books.
- Always adhere to safe laboratory practices and follow departmental and EHS SOPs while working in laboratories.
