Eligbility Crirteria: 

Ph.D. in Analytical /physical/ organic/ chemistry with 8-10 years of working experience in state of the art Analytical laboratory with very good communication skills
Ability to lead a team of Analytical Chemist

Main Responsibilities:

  • Track record and state-of-art knowledge on a wide range of analytical technics, (focus:
  • UV, IR, mass spectroscopy and GC-LC chromatography, wet chemistry i.e titration methods)
  • Decent understanding of solid-state analytical methods and organic chemistry will be added advantage
  • Lead ,manage and work closely with a team of 3-5 analytical scientists and provide Analytical support to the research units in discovery and process development of new molecules in various research groups in Innovation campus Mumbai
  • Solve analytical problems and troubleshooting for Analytics instrumentation with the help of service engineers of different instrument manufacturers
  • Prepare, maintain all the SOPs for instrument operations, along with their AMCs
  • Responsible for active communication and collaboration (technical) among research units to achieve synergies regarding speed and quality of analytical results.
  • Act as a significant contributor in all safety related issues at analytics .
  • Assist HOD Analytics to develop, the analytical services portfolio in line with the strategic development of IC’s project portfolio.
  • Use and Implement lab automation projects like LIMS in collaboration with Germany teams, collaborate with IT teams for computerized portfolios
  • Give data input to ALMS and other data storage systems.
  • Develop networking relationship with expert colleagues in Ludwigshafen, Collaborate with BUs and manufacturing sites and support each other

Objective:

To lead the Analytics Team for various routine workflows, value additions, problem solving and conduct analytical research so as to enable various chemistry groups meet their targets

4. Can you give an example of a challenging analytical problem you faced, and how did you solve it?

Answer: One of the most challenging analytical problems I faced was when we had to analyze an impurity in a complex sample matrix. We tried several techniques, but the results were not satisfactory. Eventually, we developed a new sample preparation method that involved solid-phase extraction and derivatization, which significantly improved the sensitivity and selectivity of the analysis.

5. How do you prioritize competing demands and ensure that the analytical services portfolio aligns with the strategic goals of the organization?

Answer: I use a structured approach to prioritize tasks and projects based on their urgency, importance, and alignment with the organization’s goals. I also work closely with the HOD Analytics and other stakeholders to understand their requirements and develop a roadmap for the analytical services portfolio. Moreover, I periodically review and evaluate the portfolio’s performance and make necessary adjustments to ensure that it meets the organization’s needs.
